Sharing appreciation and gentle support

on the “Longest Night” happens by the flickering light

of our own hand decorated candles.


It’s such a thoughtful time of focusing only on each other,

that it wasn’t until we were seven years into this tradition

that it even occurred to us to take a picture...


Here we are mid-solstice in 1997,

​looking a bit goofy and sweet.
